One 'Loser' races from first place to last

Bret Hartman / NBC

Ada Wong crushed the marathon on "The Biggest Loser."

After giving both Mark and Brendan the boot last week, the remaining four “Biggest Loser” contestants were immediately sent home to begin the final push before finale night.

That meant players had to face off-ranch challenges with diet and exercise, prepare for a pre-finale marathon, and with the help of emotion-packed highlight reels, reflect on just how far they’ve come.

One might think the personal clip show would be the easiest part by far. One would be wrong — at least where Ada was concerned.

Also watching Ada’s memorable moments of the season so far were her parents, otherwise known as the folks who blamed her for living when two of her brothers didn’t, and who famously refused to send so much as a video “hello” while she was away. There they sat, watching ranch-Ada retell her problems with them onscreen, while sofa-Ada wept nearby.

Awkward.

But, if made-for-TV professions of support -- not to mention Ada’s mother’s endless stream of tears -- are to be believed, it was cathartic, too. So there’s that.

With the emotional backstory all wrapped up, Ada continued to be the one to watch throughout the season’s penultimate episode. After all, as “The Biggest Loser’s” resident track star, Ada was expected to win the big race. She didn’t disappoint. Not only did she finish first, she set a “Loser” record by finishing in just over four and half hours.

Go, Ada!

(Mostly) come to terms with her flawed family? Check! Ace the race? Check! Win the weigh-in? Well ...

Despite the fact that Ada looked amazing, practically appearing to drop pounds with every mile marker she passed, her total weight loss for the six weeks the episode covered only added up to 12 pounds — a great number in the real world, but one that left her trailing Patrick, Frado and even Elizabeth, who also landed below the yellow line.

Ada’s never been in last place before and now her fate comes down to the vote. Good thing for her the alliance -- now made up of just Patrick and Frado -- won’t get a chance to vote off their strongest competition. This time it’s up to viewers to decide who deserves a spot in the finale’s final three.

I think Ada should be voted in - Elizabeth is still riding on everyone's shirt-tales....And then you have 3 of the strongest people up for the $250,000.00

I disagree and here's why. Ada has a better shot at winning the at home prize than others and it allows Patrick a better chance at that grand prize.

I'm for Team Ada, I think she has worked the hardest and overcome the most on personal baggage issues and has a very good chance of making this a permanent life change. I agree Patrick needs the money the most but it shouldn't be about that and I think with Patrick's new lease on life, he will get alot of job offers very shortly...Employers love a winner and in terms of what he has accomplished already he has won a great deal.

Elizabeth on the other hand, I don't think she was ready to participate in this game....she doesn't apppear to have made the commitment to change her life....she goes thru the motions as long as there is someone there to prod her or tell her how good she is doing but that won't always be the case in a real world situation....the others seemed to be ready at a much higher level much earlier on.

I just don't think Elizabeth is where she should be mentally at this stage of the process.

I know that Ada doesn't have as good of a shot at actually winning, but she DOES deserve to be in the winners' circle WAY more than Whiny-puke-Elizabeth. Elizabeth has not learned to take care of herself yet! Why the hell would she move in with her boyfrind right when she went home?! Stand on your own two feet woman!! Geez!

I don't want her to compete for the at-home prize because I'm pretty sure that Mark is going to take that one (or Jesse, remember how good he looked on the follow up clip after he went home?)

Ada is the only intelligent choice, as far as I'm concerned, for the third member in the finale. I seriously cannot even WATCH, let alone, LISTEN, to Elizabeth's whiny, excuse-ridden, conversations/dialogue; Mute doesn't even work....I have to fast forward my TiVo through her scenes....

Ultimately, I think it will come down to Patrick and Frado though! I hope Patrick wins, only because he really needs the money.

If I recall correctly, this is not the first time that a marathon winner ended up falling below the yellow line. Seems running is great for cardio-vascular fitness, but not for intensive weight loss, and getting ready for 26.2 miles takes a LOT of running!

I don't se why they don't use body fat % or muscle mass instead of just weight. Ada looks great and her win in the marathon should have given her an automatic slot in the finals. Near as I can tell, Patrick and Frado are still playing the game and manipulating people. Maybe Patrick ought to get a job instead of counting on winning money- didn't Ada and Frado already give him a new car? Totally agree about Elizabeth's whining though.

Just for the record, I tried voting for Ada online and the link does not work.  I am not going to pay 95 cents to vote via text message.
