Beneath Jane's sweet appearance is a fiery, tough "Survivor"!
It's been mistake after mistake for Chase on "Survivor," which makes his long stay in the competition a bit baffling. The show kicked off with a montage of the North Carolinian flipping on former pals Shannon, Brenda and Benry. It was more of the same, but perhaps with bigger consequences on Wednesday night.
First, he won the reward challenge and selected Sash and Holly to join him on a boat ride down the coast of Nicaragua, complete with sandwiches, chips and champagne. Taking Sash was a no-brainer; after lying about taking him on the previous reward, Chase would've had to be ridiculously dumb to not take him this time. But picking Holly over Jane or Fabio? Disappointing your strongest supporter, and the guy you had talked to about taking on reward? Questionable moves when you still need jury votes to win the big prize!
As Dan put it, "He's been a friend, then he spits in (Jane's) face today. It was disgusting."
On the reward, the three declared to their families (who joined them, thus hurting Fabio that much more because he rarely sees his mother) that they were sitting with the Final Three. But they may as well have made the declaration at camp, because everyone figured the alliance was sticking together -- even Fabio, who may not be as stupid as he appears. The pretty boy knew there was a huge target on his back, but succeeded in winning the immunity challenge.
And here's where it starts to get even worse for Chase. Naturally, with the plan to eliminate Fabio crushed, he pushed to vote out Dan, but no one else was having it. Jane may be a sweet little old lady, but she's also ridiculously tough. And as Marty pointed out time and again, her sob story could win her the million dollars. No one in their right mind would want to face her to the finals, and the rest of the survivors finally got the message through to Chase.
Unfortunately, this was also when Jane came up to her supposed alliance of Chase, Holly and Sash, wanting to make sure that they were still going to gun for Dan. "I just want to make sure we're still four," she said.

Their reply? A long pause, until Chase finally said, "That's what we need to discuss." Oh, right. That won't tip her off!
So Jane asks if they're writing her name down, and this time, their response was dead silence. Silence!C'mon, guys! Are you here to play "Survivor" or what? Improvise! Lie and tell her no, that you're still voting Dan! Then she might not figure out which one of you flipped! Don't just stand there looking guilty! But no, Chase plays with his emotions, not his head, and it's going to cost him important votes if he makes it to the final three.
"They're flippers. They're liars. They're cheats. They're backstabbers!" Jane told viewers. "I'm most disappointed in my Carolina homeboy, Chase. ... I told Sash, 'Don't even $#%*&@^ look at me!' If he tries to compare me to his mama? Nuh uh! She raised a damn liar. ... The wrath of Jane will break out tonight!"
And she was only getting started! After the little chat with her former alliance, Jane stormed back to camp and dumped a bucket of water on the campfire. "I started it, I'll put it out!" she declared.
At Tribal Council, the dog trainer continued on her tear. After insisting on having her say, Jane told host Jeff Probst, "There's absolutely no loyalty in tonight's vote. It's full of liars and backstabbers." She went on to call Holly a thief, reminding everyone that the swim coach stole Dan's $1,400 shoes earlier in the season.
After she was done, Jeff pointed out the obvious: Why didn't she align with Fabio and Dan to potentially vote out someone in the other alliance? This made Holly a bit nervous, since she was the only one in the alliance who didn't have a hidden immunity idol. But in the end, it wasn't necessary. Even though Jane, Dan and Fabio could've voted her out, the two guys decided to vote with the alliance to get rid of Jane.
*sigh* It could've been a great prefinale show, to go to the end with the final four totally up in the air. But as the contestants have proven, this group isn't very good at outplaying.

Stupidity is what drives these reality shows.
The current group of players is positively the most incompetent and dysfunctional group of 'survivors' in the show's history. How the hell do the producers of this formerly entertaining series pick this bunch of losers? They should be experts at selecting people that can play each other by now.
I'm not sure I'm game for another go at Survivor. It's gotten to be a sixth-grade playground argument.
Maybe they can rename it "Surviving with Idiots" or something more appropriate.
I agree. I've watched every episode of this show. I'm done. Why is Dan still there? Because he has 0 chance of winning.
Lt I agree this has been without a doubt one of the worst Surivor seasons that I have witnessed. Two people quit and the group that is left would have to get a ladder to get up to the idiot level. Dan WTF!!! Give me a F-ing break, he can barely get up off his a$$ and stand up straight. If they don't make an immediate improvement with the next season I think they will be through.
I agree!! What a bunch of MORONS! Really? Why did Dan and Fabio side with the other 3--do they not get that they are next to be voted out? And, if going into that vote, wouldn't Chase, Sash and Hollie have thought that it would go to a tie between Hollie and Jane...so Chase -or Sash_hand your idol to Hollie, let her play it, so even if Dan and Fabio had sided with Jane and voted Hollie, it would not be a tie and Jane would be out, for sure. And why did Jane throw her vote at Sash? What if Dan and Fabio had sided with her? Why waste it on Sash?
And with Nay and Kelly quitting, they should not get a spot on the jury, no interviews with Today show people, nothing. They QUIT. They get put on a plane and dropped off at their homes. Quitters should NOT get to jury vote for the winner. They should be out on their ears!!
I have really enjoyed watching Survivor--my kids even look forward to it each week, but this season is full of idiots, quitters and morons! And for sure...why is Dan still there?!!?? Really? Dan?
Worst season EVER.
The play tonight was beyond idiotic. First, Jane should have run to Dan and Fabio and pointed out that they should all vote together...DUH. Then at tribal, when she said, ONLY after Jeff's suggestion, that they should all vote for Holly, the two idiots with idols kept them. I would have given mine up to protect Holly and my alliance. Finally, then we see the votes: Morons Dan and Fabio voted for Jane still not Holly, and Jane voted for Sash. What would have happened had they taken the obvious hint...It was spelled out for them what the right move was, but they ignored it.
They all deserve to go home.

You people saying that Dan and Fabio should have voted for Jane are forgetting something important. Neither of those two could beat Jane in the finale, so they wanted her gone as much as Chase, Holly, and Sash. Entering an alliance with her doesn't do much good if she is going to destroy you in the finale. Their best bet was getting rid of Jane and then hoping to either win immunity or make someone switch alliances.
your logic might be sound at least for Fabio. Dan doesn't look like he can finish a bug breakfast, let alone a challenge. Best I think he could've hoped for was to keep Jane and hope she took him to final two and be happy with second place.

You logic is so flawed. They will never see the final now...no chance. Better to get there and lose, than not get there at all.
You play to win it all. Keeping Jane around guarantees you lose in the final. At this point, with only 5 left, you have very few opportunities to get rid of her. You have to do it when you get the chance, and they continue to play the game in order to break the alliance of 3 (which has happened in past seasons as it nears the end)
Hey! If they all did what we expected them to do, then the show would be BORING!!! The fact that they make dumb moves at least keeps it interesting and totally unpredictable, and that's what you want in a game show, right?
Bruce: Exactly!! It has to be much harder to edit unscripted TV and when the players have a boring couple days it's more difficult to edit a sixty minute show. Remember they were accused at least a couple times of scripting or reenactment. That won't fly with viewers, especially me. Boring or not, I want the real thing. Jane should have been trying to build a super secret alliance. If she faced the jury she would surely win and she knew it several episodes ago, but tried to skate by on her good girl reputation. Won't work! Also remember Cherie and Sugar? Dan's no different; goes with the strongest alliance and glides to the end [almost]. They want Dan to help get Fabio off, barring immunity, then they'll turn on him. If Dan has immunity with four players left, it's a new game!
There are a lot of detractors of Survivor, just look at the comments here on this vine, but you know what? I'd have to say that Survivor is a lot more entertaining than Lost ever was, and that was a popular show that's no longer on.
I thought Lost was really stupid because it seemed like they just made crap up from week to week, and when the finale came they could NOT answer all the "mysterious questions" which is how I know they just made stupid crap up and didn't have a real coherent story line in Lost ever. Besides that, Lost was kind of a Survivor rip-off anyway, and a bad one at that!
At least with Survivor, at the end you know why things happened the way they did. They tell you! And some times it actually makes sense. Except for times like last night...
Why in the heck didn't Jane get Fabio and Dan to vote with her against Holly?
I was absolutely sure that's what she was going to do, because it made more sense than anything else she could have done.
And why in the heck did Fabio and Dan go along with the alliance that they no is out to get them next, by voting with them to vote out Jane?
And the biggest why of all is, why in the heck did Jane vote against Sash? That made absolutely no sense at all!
Now, if Jane, Dan, and Fabio would have voted against Holly, and all things remained the same, there would have been a 3 - 3 tie between Jane and Holly, and Jane might just have won, sending Holly home and leaving the Jane, Dan and Fabio alliance in total command. But it didn't happen that way. Because if it would have then I could have said "I told you so!" and it would not have been as interesting an outcome as it is now.
Survivor is a good show, and for those who don't think so, then here's a bit of advice... DON'T WATCH IT! You can change the channel, so change the channel and watch something else, and comment on that, okay?

I don't understand the hate on Survivor; there are a lot of incredible stupid reality shows (anything to do with dating for sure) but Survivor I've always enjoyed. It is still a cool concept, taking people away from society and leaving them in a situation where they must work as a team as a means to win individually. It forces people to align, and later turn on their alliances. It's cool.
Indeed. Survivor isn't that bad. Most of the people who criticize it, are the same people who watch Jersey Shore and Real Housewives.
Disease and MS-85: I couldn't agree more, I have tried watching all the most popular reality shows and still wonder how they captivate so many people. The furious brainless scrambling on Amazing Race along with the disagreements that I saw in the first season made me a permanent Nonwatcher. And DWTS and American Idol. The last DWTS winner won because of her widely exhorted "ailments" and suckered the call-in viewers. If Survivor even flirts with this idea I'm gone!!

You're missing the point. (This is what I screamed to my TV for ten minutes last night) With Holly gone, you've broken their alliance; it's a new game. Everyone is scrambling; everyone is a free agent. With Holly still there, dumb and dumber are sitting ducks.
Of course even if they both suddenly grew a brain and did vote for Holly, Jane screwed it up by voting for Sash! Huh?
mendy, it doesn't make sense for Dan to keep Jane. That alliance is going to turn on each other. It makes more sense for them to bring Dan into the final 3 than each other. If they have half a brain, they'll realize that. To them, what does Dan bring to the table that will make the jury vote for him?

I was cheering for Jane to win. I won't be watching the remainder of this season's show.
I have been a huge fan of survivor, however, after watching the last season and then this season I doubt I will ever watch again. I have never seen so many stupid people in one show.........I am now convinced that Survivor is scripted, the producers tell the survivors what to do as no one can be as stupid as the people on the current show and the last show. How stupid do the producers think the American viewing public is? I for one am done watching this show
Even Jeff senses it is bad, he tried to drum up some suspense and anger. Fabio is not dumb, he is a good guy.
All these stupid participants are what make SURVIVOR so much fun to watch! Jane could not understand that as part of the game alliances were made to be broken, she thought she had a devine right to win!!! Chase is an idiot, and Fabio is a very dark horse, as is Holly! Dan? Who he?!!!
With all those birds around why didn't these fatheads try to trap and kill some of them for food, birds are edible, aren't they?
With no immunity idols left next week's episode should prove to be very entertaining indeed!
I've watched Survivor from the first season, rarely missing an episode, but this season may be the end of it for me. I missed last night and don't even care -- this is the dumbest, most boring group they've ever had. I doubt if I'll watch the finale, since NONE of these people are remotely interesting and I'm not rooting for anyone. Ho hum.
It will serve all of those mooks right if Dan walks away (or limps away) with the million bucks.

Maybe I'm late asking this but I want to know why the 2 quitters are allowed to sit on the jury. If they quit after the merge how do they have the right to vote on who outwitted, outplayed and outlasted? Neither of them has a clue and shouldn't be allowed to vote. Producers should change the rules in this regard.
I agree. They should have sent these two packing and brought back two of the previously voted off contestants. That would have made it interesting.
I hope Fabio wins the next few challenges. That is what he is banking on. Chase has done himself in even if he makes it to the final, too many enemies now, won't get the votes. Jane had to go. Did you see her whispering the answers to the challenge to her daughter? I wonder how she plans on ruining Chases' name in South Carolina? What a stupid remark! Dan should have been gone long ago, isn't up to it. It will be interesting to see the end and how it all turns out. I vote for Fabio or Holly.

It was probably dumb luck that Survivor put this dysfunctional crew together. Sooner or later the national idiot card would come up.
What am I missing here? The only way for Jane to survive was for her, Dan, and Fabio to vote for Holly and then she (Jane) votes for Sash??? How glorious it would have been had it been 3 votes Jane, 2 votes Holly, with Jane's vote to go. What an idiot. She cut her own throat and deserved to go.
My thoughts were that she anticipated Sash giving his idol to Holly. He's not that much of a gentleman though... thus, hopefully voting Sash out. But, they needed to put the plan in the works prior to Tribal Council.

Hey, if you HATE Survivor that much, why not just IGNORE it and comment on something else. Nobody is forcing you to watch the show, you can change the TV channel and just forget it's even on TV. You don't have to watch it, or comment on it. If you didn't watch it, then you really shouldn't comment on it anyway. There are plenty of other vines that you can offer your opinion on, where your constructive opinion might actually be more appreciated than a purely negative comment here.
Just saying, don't add any more stress to your life by making hateful comments on something as insignificant as a TV show. Okay?
