'Sister Wives' exclusive: Is there a baby on the way for Meri?

    By Ree Hines

At the end of the season-two finale of TLC's "Sister Wives," Kody Brown's fourth wife, Robyn, gave birth to the family's newest addition, baby Solomon. She then followed that up with an offer to help expand the family even more by serving as surrogate for Kody and his first wife, Meri. Meri's decision?

That unknown served as a cliffhanger, but even with a new season on the way, it could remain a mystery for some time.

In an exclusive sneak peek for the season-three premiere, Robyn reveals that while Meri wants to have another child (in addition to her 17-year-old daughter Mariah), she still hasn't made up her mind about Robyn's offer.

"I know that Meri has been through a lot trying to have more children," Robyn explained. "She's had a miscarriage once before that I know was really hard on her. She's been through a lot of disappointment and a lot of ups and downs emotionally. It's not fun sitting there hoping every single month and being let down."

    Follow @TODAY_Clicker

That's what inspired Robyn's emotional offer. At the time she made it, she said that she'd been praying about it since she first met Meri. And Meri's delayed response doesn't bother her at all.

"I know Meri's still thinking about it, and I'm not sure where she's at and that's OK," Robyn said. "I'm giving her a lot of room to figure it out. And it's going to take some time anyway. Solomon needs to be old enough for me to be pregnant again. So we're just kind of in this place right now where Meri's thinking it over."

If Meri takes Robyn up on her offer, it would mean baby No. 18 for the Brown family.

Learn more about Meri's motherhood decision when the season three premiere of "Sister Wives" airs, appropriately enough, on Mother's Day, May 13 at 9 p.m. ET.

'Sister Wives' speak out about gay marriage

The Browns: Janelle, Christine, Kody, Meri, and Robyn

    By Access Hollywood

The stars of TLC’s “Sister Wives” have an unconventional marriage, so how do they feel about the issue of gay marriage?

Kody Brown, and his four wives -- Meri, Janelle, Robyn and Christine -- stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Thursday, where they shared with Billy Bush and guest co-host Lisa Rinna their thoughts on the hot button topic.

“I have been able to choose and define my marriage and I think everybody should be able to do that,” Kody explained. “Choose and define who you marry, choose and define who you love.”

So when it comes to loving, how do the five reality stars navigate the pitfalls of having multiple partners?

“We don’t discuss it, but I do what I can to spend time with all my wives,” Kody told Billy when asked how he divides his intimate time with his four wives.

”[I] respect and nurture every relationship and just make sure everybody is good,” he continued. “Respecting everybody’s space and each relationship.”

Does jealousy ever rear its ugly head in the Brown households?

“We deal with jealousy, but that’s kind of what the point is, to kind of get over yourself and realize there are other people beside you,” Robyn, who welcomed new son Solomon in October, explained.

Wife Janelle explained that their children -- 17 of them! -- aren’t ridiculed at school for their unconventional family.

“The friends at school don’t seem to have as much of an issue, they have usual families too,” she explained. “It’s very different now, the definition of relationship.”

The family’s new book, “Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage,” is in stores now.

'Sister Wives' returns with more marriage woes for one wife

    Bryant Livingston / AP

The season-three premiere of TLC's "Sister Wives" reveals more woes for Kody Brown and his third wife, Christine.

    By Ree Hines

As "Sister Wives" viewers know well, Kody Brown and his four brides not only share their highs on the show, they share plenty of their low moments too. And last season revealed several of those lows for Kody and wife No. 3, Christine.

The problems for the pair started shortly after Robyn, aka Kody's fourth wife, joined the family. As Christine put it at the time, she just didn't "feel special anymore."

A sneak peek for the upcoming season premiere shows that while the Brown family has moved on and grown up in many ways since last season, Christine and Kody's relationship woes remain the same.

"My relationship, it's just kind of at a standstill right now," Christine explained in the preview. "We're not really working on it at all. We're just kind of letting it just kind of sit there and hoping that somehow things are going to be better. But right now, we're not really even working on it, and that's hard. That's really hard."

Hard for Kody too, it seems, as he now believes "Christine's very different than she used to be."

But it's Kody's first wife, Meri, who sees the problem from both sides, and she thinks she has the answer.

"It's easy when you're in a situation like that to put blame on the other person," she said. "I know that's what Christine's doing, and I know that's what Kody's doing. And the biggest thing that you have to do in a situation like this is to look inward and figure out yourself, 'cause you're not going to change the other person no matter what. Doesn't matter how many times you tell them that they're being stupid. They're not going to listen to you."

And if anyone knows how to handle ups and downs with Kody, it's Meri. She's been married to him for 22 years -- that's four more years of wedded bliss (and less-than-blissful moments) than Christine's had.

See more from the Brown family when "Sister Wives" returns to TLC on May 13 at 9 p.m. ET.

Parents angry over 'Sister Wives' cameras in school

Some Nevada parents are said to be upset over the presence of "Sister Wives" cameras in their kids' school.

    By Ree Hines

It seems controversy -- and, of course, reality TV cameras -- follows the members of the "Sister Wives" family wherever they go. Over the last year and a half, Kody Brown, his brides and their 17 kids have faced legal battles, angry neighbors and even bullying, but the latest hubbub is a new one for the Browns.

According to TMZ, a production crew for the TLC show tagged along with the family as they attended Sheila Tarr Elementary School's Valentine's Ball last week, and the parents of some of the other children in attendance weren't happy about it. And a compromise that would blur out non-Brown family faces in the crowd and keep location information hush-hush didn't exactly calm their concerns.

"The district heard the concerns of the parents involved and considered them when developing (the) compromise," a Clark County School District rep told TMZ.

But given the fact that this was hardly the first camera crew to make its way into area schools in recent months, the district powers-that-be felt refusing the "Sister Wives" cameras wasn't an option.

    Follow @TODAY_Clicker

"In the past few months, we've had the 'Ellen' show, ABC News, Oxygen Network and countless local broadcasts filmed at our schools," the rep explained. "TLC and the Brown family deserved the same."

What you think? Did the Brown family deserve the right to bring reality TV cameras and crew to the school, or did the other families have a right to a reality-TV-free environment? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.

'Sister Wives' finale ends with new baby, new hope

    Kyle Christy / TLC

Kody Brown and wife No. 4, Robyn, welcomed the newest member of the family, baby Solomon, on the season finale of "Sister Wives."

    By Tierney Bricker, E! Online

Robyn Brown can't wait for her child on the "Sister Wives" season finale: "It's getting really close to when I have the baby."

While we reported on Solomon's birth last month, Sunday night we actually got to see the moments and emotions leading up to it, including those of Kody Brown's first three wives, Meri, Christine and Janelle. What do they think about Robyn welcoming a new child into the family? (Hint: They're not all thrilled!) Oh, and Robyn made Meri a pretty huge offer, signifying just how close these two sister wives have become.

So what went down before Solomon's birth?

MORE: "Sister Wives" Season-Finale First Look: Robyn and Meri Bond Over Baby Solomon!

The wives go out to lunch, which they say helps their friendships as they are living in different houses, and Robyn says she's nervous about how Kody feels about another child. Meri, Christine and Janelle reassure her about him. "Kody's great," Christine says. "You're going to be so relieved." Robyn tells them they're the reason Kody is so great.

Christine makes a "peace offering" to Robyn because "my treatment of her has not been accepting and welcoming in the least," she explains. "Being jealous of her, what it really did, it made her feel like she wasn't welcome. That I didn't want her as a sister wife. I never meant that." Christine admits she's fearful that her children won't treat Robyn as their mother because of her actions. "I welcome Solomon as my son, and I promise to be better," Christine says. Janelle admits she's not as excited as Christine for Solomon's arrival. "I am excited, but I probably won't get up in the middle of the night to see the baby," she admits.

"It'll be fun to have Solomon, but it'll be very different than if it were my own," says Meri, who reveals she and Robyn have become very close. Meri says she always wanted a deep connection with a sister wife and never had it until Robyn came into the family.

Two weeks overdue, Robyn is definitely ready to give birth (in her home, preferably on her bed!) to Solomon. On Oct. 25, around 10:15 p.m., Robyn gets her wish as she goes into labor. Meri comes over to say, "Good luck! Happy pushing!" After a couple of hours in labor, Kody and Robyn welcome their first child together. "I was impressed," Kody tells his fourth wife. "Here's our dream come true."

Aside from the arrival of baby Solomon, the other Brown kids received some screentime as the issue of the move from Utah to Las Vegas was addressed, but the story soon returns to baby talk. And a huge surprise.

At the end of the episode, Robyn says she needs to talk to Meri alone, so she can say to her, "I want to know if you want me to be your surrogate." As most viewers know, Meri can't have children, so this is huge. "I know you're going to have to take some time to think about it, but I'm offering it wholeheartedly," Robyn says. All Meri can say is, "Wow!" Robyn admits she's been thinking about it ever since they met. Yes, we cried.

'Sister Wives' kids struggled with baby news

    TLC

The "Sister Wives" kids feel growing pains has the family gets ready to welcome the newest addition.

    By Ree Hines

The newest member of the “Sister Wives” family, baby Solomon, arrived in October, but thanks to the delay of reality TV, the blessed event is only now on the way to the small screen. And as it turns out, not everyone in the family considered it good news.

On the upcoming “Sister Wives” season finale, some of the children Kody Brown had with his first three wives expressed their feelings about the addition of one more member joining their already big brood.

“I honestly think we already have almost more kids than we can handle,” Hunter, son of wife No. 2 Janelle, said, shaking his head. “And the fact that we’re just having more, it’s … I don’t know.”

As regular viewers know, Hunter, along with his sister Madison, has had a tough time adjusting since the family left Utah behind and moved to Las Vegas. And once again, Madison feels much the same as her little brother.

“I’m glad (fourth wife) Robyn’s having a baby, and I think it’s happy for her, but I don’t know if I’m excited,” she said. “I don’t know what I think about the baby. I don’t know that I really feel happy that we’re having a baby, ‘cause … I just don’t know. … We have so many kids right now, that I don’t know.”

Hunter then added, “You can’t love someone you don’t know.”

But not all of the Brown family’s 16 kids felt the same way about the baby.

“I love him,” Mariah, Kody’s only child with first wife Meri, insisted.

See how the family handles this emotional time when the “Sister Wives” season finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.

Are you surprised to see some of the kids struggle with the idea of expanding the family, or was this expected after all of the post-move problems? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.

The Brown family ventured out of the Las Vegas suburbs on Sunday night's "Sister Wives."

    By Ree Hines

Life in the Las Vegas suburbs seems to suit the relocated “Sister Wives” family — minus a few of the kids, who still grumble about the fact that it’s not Utah — but once the group ventured out onto the Vegas strip, all bets were off.

On Sunday night’s episode of the reality series, Kody Brown’s four wives hit the famous stretch of Sin City and soon saw more than they bargained for.

“Once we got down to the end of Fremont Street, it was a more adult version (of the strip),” Brown’s first bride, Meri explained as images of dancers flashed on the screen. “We realized, ‘You know what? We’ve gone past where we should have gone.”

Robyn, who just joined the family last year, seemed particularly upset about the sexy scenes on the strip. Later, in an interview at home, she explained that despite being part of a plural marriage, life with their husband isn’t centered around sex like that.

“People look at our lifestyle and they think this is all about sex,” she said. “I mean, if this was really about sex....”

“... Why take on the responsibility of a wife?” Wife three, Christine said, finishing Robyn’s sentiment. “Why take on the responsibility of supporting her children?”

As for Janelle, Brown’s second wife, she admitted to be shocked by what she saw on Fremont Street, but she maintains a live and let live attitude.

“You know, for me, because we are so conservative in our dress and we are so conservative in the way we view things, when you run into something that’s so blatantly opposite from yourself, it’s always kind of like, ‘Oh!’” she said of her initial reaction to seeing the dancers. “I kind of feel like everybody has to choose. Some choose it out of necessity. And I do think some choose it because they don’t mind the attention. But again, I just have to let everybody choose, and I would ask that they let me choose my life, too.”

Would the 'Sister Wives' family consider adding brother husbands?

    TLC

Kody Brown and his wives discuss their views on plural marriage.

    By Ree Hines

A one-husband-to-four-wives ratio may be fine for the “Sister Wives” family, but what would they think of adding a few more men to the mix? On Sunday night’s episode of the TLC reality show, Kody Brown’s brides addressed that question.

“You know, that’s not a tenant of our faith,” Kody’s first wife, Meri, told a group of students in Boston after one inquired if they would consider brother husbands.

Wife No. 2, Janelle, then took the microphone right out of Meri’s hand to add, “Who really wants that? Do you? I’m sorry, but guys are tons, a lot of work, right?”

Later, speaking directly to the camera, Janelle explained her take on their marital arrangement.

“Religions have rules and beliefs,” she said. “It can even be as simple as conduct in a marriage or foods that you can and cannot eat. Every religion has rules that they think bring them closer to God. That is how it is for us. We feel like living plural marriage is a commandment designed for our happiness.”

As long as there’s just one man, Meri reiterated.

“The way that the plural marriage is for us — that we believe and we accept — is one man and multiple wives,” she continued. “We just don’t do it the other way around. I would not ever choose to have more than one husband. From a religious standpoint, because I don’t believe that’s right. And also from a personal standpoint, I need my me time, and I wouldn’t get it if I had many guys around. I’m not going there.”

And from the disapproving look on Kody’s face, it seems likely he wouldn’t go there either.

'Sister Wives' kids struggle to adjust to growing family

    TLC

There's a rift in the "Sister Wives" family, at least as far as the kids are concerned.

    By Ree Hines

While “Sister Wives” patriarch Kody Brown seems delighted to see his family, which currently consists of four wives and 17 children, keep growing, the same can’t be said for some of those kids.

A preview clip for the next episode of the show reveals that tensions are mounting in the house as Kody’s biological children struggle to accept the step-siblings they gained when their dad married wife No. 4, Robyn.

“We know Dayton, Aurora and Breanna come from a different family, but you can’t tell us to change,” Madison, Kody’s oldest daughter with wife Janelle, complained. “Yeah, we’re making changes. They have to make changes as well.”

And change is a big part of the problem, according to the oldest of the brood, Logan. After all, the group was barely getting to know their newest members when they were suddenly uprooted from their suburban Utah home for life in Las Vegas.

“You can’t expect a massive amount of change to come along without situations boiling over,” Logan said. “That’s what happened.”

But that excuse doesn’t work for Robyn.

“I do see the difference with treatment of Dayton, Aurora and Breanna,” she insisted. “I’ve waited a year thinking it would change, and I don’t really see it completely changing. I see it in some cases actually getting worse. If (they) don’t feel like they’re a part of this family, they can choose, at a certain age, to not be here with me anymore. They can choose to live with their biological father.”

Which is obviously something none of the adults want.

“I’ve very concerned about some kind of problems that stem from bullying in my family,” Kody added. “I’m at a loss. I’m just figuring there are millions of other parents just like me that are wondering what the heck to do with their kids.”

Do you think the Brown family will unite, or do you expect the tensions to grow? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.

'Sister Wives' couple welcomes another baby into the big family

    By Anna Chan

    And baby makes 22!

According to a People exclusive, "Sister Wives" hubby Kody Brown and wife No. 4, Robyn, welcomed a baby boy on Wednesday morning. The child is the first for the couple, but is the 17th in the plural family.

Baby Solomon weighs in at 9 lbs, 10.5 ounces and was born in the pair's Las Vegas home, according to People.

"He’s perfect and we couldn’t be happier," Kody told People about the latest addition. "We are so thrilled."

The TLC show last season featured the marriage of Brown and Robyn. This season, it has highlighted unhappiness felt by wife No. 3, Christine, in her plural marriage. The family is currently challenging Utah's polygamy law, arguing that its unconstitutional and unfairly applied to polygamists. The state, where the Browns used to live, was investigating Kody for felony bigamy before the family moved to Nevada.

The show airs on Sundays at 9 on TLC.

Do you think baby Solomon will throw another wrench into the family's happiness, or will he bring them closer together? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page!

Readers want to know: Are 'DWTS' partners having an affair?

    Adam Taylor / ABC

Rob Kardashian, who is partnered with pro Cheryl Burke, let slip that some married folks on the cast are having an affair.

Sparkly, barely there outfits! Gorgeous pro dancers in fantastic shape! Celebrities willing to risk embarrassment! It's not hard to see why "Dancing With the Stars" is such a popular show.

And if you throw in a possible love affair? Between married partners? No wonder readers couldn't get enough! Sure, rumors of ballroom hookups surface almost every season on "Dancing," but when contestant Rob Kardashian let slip that he knew some of his fellow ballroom dancers -- married ones at that -- are getting too close, Clicker fans made it the No. 1 post of the week.

But was it who the possibly naughty parties might be that drew all the interest? Or was it because of the messenger, one Mr. Kardashian? If I were to venture a guess based on the responses to the story on our Facebook page, I'd say you guys just don't like the guy or his loose lips. (To be fair, he did backtrack on Twitter later, implying that he was joking and meant no disrespect to the pros or contestants on the show.)

"I think we can all say we didn't expect anything less from him. He is after all a Kardashian," wrote reader Tresa Smith.

"He's an idiot," wrote reader Doris Soto. "Who does that? Makes crappy jokes on the RADIO about people who he has to work with."

The Kardashians didn't get a single break in the thread. As for the potential lovebirds, only one reader ventured a guess. So it seems a love-hate ("Dancing," Kardashians) factor worked to make this one popular story this week.

Another reader favorite? Oprah! Even with her popular talk show no longer on the air, people still love to read about her and her former show. And in this case, what she thought her biggest on-air mistake was. Yes, it was a memorable one! The talk-show queen revealed to "Entertainment Tonight" that her biggest "Oprah Winfrey Show" regret was when she wheeled out 67 pounds of fat onto the stage in 1988. "When I look at that show, I think it was one of the biggest ego trips of my life," she told "ET."

Not everyone agreed that it was Oprah's biggest boo-boo, though. Readers thought it was actually a pretty good segment. "Show the truth. That wagon was the truth," wrote reader Paul Swift on our Facebook page. "A hell of an accomplishment to lose 67 pounds."

The third most popular post? Our exclusive sneak peek at an upcoming episode of "Sister Wives," during which wife No. 3, Christine, says she's no longer sure her marriage to polygamist Kody Brown is the right thing for her. Not only that, there was trouble in her marriage. "I don't know if I care if it's perfect anymore, or if it's what he wants anymore," Christine told the cameras of sharing her husband with three other wives.

The response on our Facebook page was mixed, with some readers rooting for Christine to do what they think would make her happy again, others thinking the drama is made up for TV, and others just strongly opposing polygamy and the Browns' lifestyle.
